10 future industry leaders and innovators will be selected to sit on Music Forward’s first-ever national youth advisory council, UpNext.

Serving a one-year term they will engage in new conversations and actively shape how the industry can better support our 18–24-year-olds.

Paid stipends($1000/per term) 

Local event budget for you to activate your community

Skills and knowledge to navigate a complex industry 

Opportunities to network with established professionals in the music and live entertainment industry 

Access to Music Forward mentorship

Who you are: 

  • You are involved with Music Forward, partner organizations, and have demonstrated an enthusiasm for the music industry 
  • You are ready for training, feedback, and projects to move the music industry and their communities forward 
  • You are ready to serve on the virtual council for 12 months, meeting once a month as a full council and once a month in committees 
  • You want the opportunity to participate in Music Forward’s All Access Fest: Virtual (September 2024) – global exposure to thousands of emerging industry leaders as well as seasoned pros! 

How it works: 

  1. Apply online by March 29, 2024 
  2. Make sure to follow MFF on social platforms @musicforward
  3. Selections will be made with the first Council meeting kicking off April 2024

Eligibility and Guidelines: 

  • Must be 18-24 years old 
  • Emerging artist and/or young professional looking to break into the music industry  
  • Past participation with Music Forward and/or partnered organizations participation 
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing music performance, music business, recording, journalism/mass communications/PR with an interest in the music industry OR Currently employed in the music industry OR Connected to your local community  
  • All participants must reside in the U.S. to be eligible 
  • Must have access to high-speed internet with connection to Zoom application
