What are the key dates to remember if I want to apply to the Apple project?

May 10th- May 30th: Application period

How do I apply?

Interested creatives can apply here, Today at Apple Creative Studios Los Angeles. Be sure to add notifications@email.submittable.com to your safe sender list to ensure you receive messages to your inbox. Application preparation support will be offered through Music Forward.

Can I still participate if I am not between the ages of 18-24 or living outside of Los Angeles County?

No, you must meet the age eligibility and be living in Los Angeles County during the program.

What is the required time commitment for participants?

Participants will need to commit to every Tuesday and Thursday from 3pm-6pm PST between June 29-August 19th. There will also be a celebration scheduled in late August that participants are encouraged to attend. Details will be provided at a later date.

What if I don’t own or have never used Apple products?

Not to worry! Participants will have access to use Apple products to complete the program. Training sessions on the device(s) and software will also be provided.

If I am selected, what is the project I will be working on?

From June 29 to August 19, 2021 in Los Angeles, you will join local music and filmmaking legends to create a visual album that captures your LA. You’ll develop your craft in hands-on virtual sessions, mastering new skills in songwriting, production, creative direction, design, and more.

Is there compensation for attending?

Participants will receive a $500 stipend at the end of the program. Participants will also have access to Apple products needed to complete the project.

Do I have to apply as a solo artist, or can I apply as part of a group?

You are invited to apply as a solo artist or as part of a group. Once the program begins, collaboration is encouraged but not required.

What is the skill level I need in music making to apply?

Although a basic level of music making in one of the following areas is ideal, it is not required that you have skill sets in all areas; melody making, beat making, music arrangement, and mixing and mastering. More than anything, we are looking for young creatives with a passion for music to join the program.

Will I have to submit a sample of work to be eligible?

No, we would love to receive a link to any projects you have completed but it is not required and will not impact your eligibility.

Can I refer a friend to the program?

This opportunity is only open to select community partners and should not be shared with other individuals. Applicants will need to share the name of their referring organization when applying.

Who owns my project at the end of the program?

Participants will retain rights and ownership of the work created in the program. Should there be interest in showcasing any stand-out projects beyond the project timeline, a separate agreement with outlined terms would be drafted at that time.

What platform will the sessions be held on?

All virtual sessions will be held on Cisco Webex, further information will be provided to participants upon selection for the program.
