Kristin Atkins

Kristin was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. As a teen she performed in Europe and directed Eastern Illinois University Choir. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois and is now a Music educator with Chicago Public Schools. Attaining her Master’s Degree in Biblical Studies from Mt. Carmel Theological Seminary was a lifetime goal.

Kristin was nominated for the Grammy Music Teacher Award. She’s shared the stage with many artist across the globe. As well as making regular appearances with “Travis Douglas and Friends” at The House of Blues for the “Kirk Franklin Brunch”. She also ministers at several Gospel Fests around the country. She’s shared the stage with many artist across the globe. She is a lover of gospel music and for several years hosted “Praisefest” on Chicago’s own WSSD 88.1 FM. Currently, she host “Revival of Praise” on Tabernacleradio.org with her husband Miguele Atkins. She is the niece of the late “Queen of The Blues” Dinah Washington and does musical and theatrical tributes in her honor.
