One of Music Forward’s biggest supporters is Live Nation Entertainment, the world’s leading live entertainment company. Live Nation provides support to the charity through House of Blues revenue streams including Foundation Room member donations, as well as restaurant and retail items designated specifically to benefit the foundation. The company provides access to its venues and professionals for young people across the country to learn first-hand about the music industry. Live Nation also provides the nonprofit with organizational infrastructure which is critical to ensure that the charity invests a majority of every dollar raised directly into programs for disadvantaged youth.
In 2016, Music Forward and Live Nation established three scholarships that cater to different aspects of the industry and the talents required to succeed in each. The program is designed to support students interested in one of the core aspects of the music business, including concert promotion, venue operation, sponsorship, and ticketing. Two of the program’s scholarships were established in memory of Live Nation employees, Steven J. Finkel and Tiffany Green, who went above and beyond in their roles and paved the way for future music industry professionals.
“Live Nation is uniquely positioned to help the next generation of music industry leaders build their foundation and follow their dreams,” Mark Campana, Chief Operating Officer of Live Nation US Concerts has said of the partnership. “Music Forward has helped us connect with hundreds of distinguished candidates, and I couldn’t be more proud of this philanthropic program.”
In 2019, The Live Nation – US Concerts Scholarship Program awarded scholarships to three deserving applicants. Scholarship applications are accepted annually from January to the end of March, and winners are announced in early June. Winners are selected based on their academic performance, essays, and recommendations. The selections are made by a panel of Live Nation executives and thought leaders from various sectors.
Live Nation Entertainment is dedicated to empowering the future leaders of the music industry. The company was formed in 2010 through the merger of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, the world leader in ticketing services with a team of over 6,600 employees. Today, Live Nation Entertainment has operations in over 40 countries and is led by CEO Michael Rapino.
